Join us for our Corpus Christi celebration on Sunday, June 22, 2025.
Please attend Mass at 11:00 AM, followed by a short procession around our neighborhood and Benediction.
We invite all children who made their First Communion this year to participate in the procession in their communion attire.
Light refreshments and panini will be served after the procession.
The Corpus Christi feast celebrates the real presence of Jesus Christ in the Eucharist, emphasizing the significance of Holy Communion. The procession is a public demonstration of faith, where participants carry the Blessed Sacrament through the streets, fostering community and devotion.
The Feast of Corpus Christi was established in the 13th century, primarily through the efforts of St. Juliana of Liège, who envisioned a day dedicated to honoring the Eucharist. Pope Urban IV formally instituted the feast in 1264, emphasizing the importance of the Eucharist and its central role in Catholic worship, which included the tradition of outdoor processions to publicly proclaim faith in the real presence of Christ.
